Why so many new stadiums?

Why are so many teams moving to new stadiums each year? And then they think their attendance will be high so they pay their talent alot of money. But then the attendance doesn't project out and the team is losing money. I'm just wondering why they keep doing this if their not making money?

Good question. I think it's because some old ballparks are "worn out" and some franchises require a new stadium to insure the team not relocating to another state.

And then they start whining about losing money and start blaming others for their mistakes.

what's even worse was the case w/ U.S. Cellular Field (new Comiskey park).. built in 1990, they had to make improvements to it to prevent it from being outdated.. as far as the need for new stadiums, there are a couple of reasons:
1) Team does need a new place to play (ex. Shea Stadium)
2) Owners want more $$$ from city/ threaten to move team

not all stadiums need to be replaced. perfect examples are Fenway, Yankee, Wrigley, & Dodger stadiums
