Vlad Guerrero probably leaving Montreal by trade deadline.....
Tim Kurkijan wrote an article about it on ESPN.com today. Interesting, he talks alot about the Yankees getting him (and follows by saying they would be unbeatable if they got Vladdy), but Guerrero wouldn't be a good fit in NYC, much like Alomar on the Mets. Should be interesting to see what happens with him as well as Beltran."You make your name in the regular season, and your fame in the postseason." - Clyde Frazier

Re: Vlad Guerrero probably leaving Montreal by trade deadline.....
As much as I'd love Vlad, I don't see the Yanks picking him up. Our farm system is getting depleted, there isn't all that much to send that way. Expos aren't going to take on Mondesi or Sierra, so what are we going to do with them?Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

Re: Vlad Guerrero probably leaving Montreal by trade deadline.....
This is where the MLB owning the Expos is most interesting...Peter Gammons said that the MLB wouldnt allow Omar Minaya to trade Guerrero.....Think about it why would baseball trade one of the best players to one of the best teams, alot of people would view that as baseball want the Yankees to win.Comment

Re: Vlad Guerrero probably leaving Montreal by trade deadline.....
He will not go to LA,NYC,Chicago Boston...Any big market teams...He doesn't wanna go to a team that will like him if he goes 3-4,then boo him if he goes 0-5...He also doesn't like much media attention.
The Spos tried signing him to a 5 year deal worth 90 million..Only reason he didn't accept was cause he wasn't sure were the team was headed and he doesn't want the team to move to a city where he won't be comforatble...
Teams that he might go to are:San Diego,San Francisco(He's a big Alou fan),Baltimore...
But he really wants to stay in Montreal..He enjoys the chemistry and likes his teamates...I really hope they can sign him...
