Re: One move you wished "your team" never made

Trading Brett Butler and Brook Jacoby to the Indians for Len Barker
Trading Dale Murphy and Tommy Greene to the Phillies for Jeff Parrett and two other no names. (Braves trade Murphy away for nothing and one year later go to the World Series)
Trading Marquis Grissom and David Justice to the Indians for Kenny Lofton and Alan Embree.
Trading Jason Schmidt and other prospects for Denny Neagle.
Trading Jermaine Dye to the Royals for Michael Tucker.
Trading Adam Wainwright and Jason Marquis and for one season of J.D. Drew.
Trading a slew of talented prospects for Mark Teixeria.

How good would the Braves be looking right now without making the Drew and Teixeria trades?

Trading Jeff Bagwell for Larry Anderson. It would have been interesting to see what kind of player Bagwell would have become probably playing 3B (his position in the minors) and what kind of hitter he would have been playing at Fenway.

          I can't pick just one.

          1. The one WazzuRC already mentioned about the Healthcliff Slocumb trade.
          2. Trading away Jeff Nelson and Tino Martinez for Sterling Hitchcock and Russ Davis.
          3. Keeping Edgar Martinez in Calgary while he's DESTROYING AAA pitching for 3 consecutive years and instead rolling Jim Presley out to 3B to finish out the 1980's.
          4. Hiring Bill Bavasi.

              Yes and yes.

Bud Selig gave the Royals first chance at moving (As far as I remember anyways) but the board that was running the team turned it down. It took me a few years to get over that because I really wanted them to switch leagues. Obviously there is no guarantee things would be any different in the NL, but it's not like things could be much worse.

I guess the Mark Teixeira trade. Would be nice to have Neftali Perez and Elvis Andrus.

You're mixing up your timeline, it wasn't an either/or. Manny was signed by the Red Sox after the 2000 season, Giambi with the Yankees after 2001. At the time the Sox signed Manny, the Yankees were three-time defending champs and O'Neill was coming off a 100 RBI season. Right or wrong, there was no chance the Yankees were going to mess with their chemistry at that point. If Manny had been a free agent after 2001, then yes, they probably would've pursued him over Giambi.

I agree, man. Bobby had an infatuation with Tucker for only God knows why...

But probably the most lopsided trade was that Teixeria trade. There would be no Wagner/Saito signings if we had Neftali Feliz, Chipper would be moved to 1B and Esky/Andrus on the left side...Oh, the possibilities.

Making Jeff freaking Suppan the highest paid player on the team.

I'd love it if they could take all the Suppan money and throw it at Fielder, but that isn't possible.
