Trading Melvin Mora for Mike Bordick
Not signing Arod or Vlad when they were young FA
    Brining in Bobby Bonilla...twice.
Trading David Cone for Kent, just to trade Kent/Vizcaino for Baerga/Espinoza later.
To be fair on a few of those; in 2000 the Mets needed a SS and Mora was a utility player at that time and i'm sure the Mets didn't think he would produce offensively like he did for Baltimore. Bordick was decent for the Mets in his short stint in New York.

Guerrero flat out did not want to go to New York peroid, Mets or Yankees. He did not want to play in a big market (i don't think the Angels are really considered a big market team).

It was Ryan Thompson not Jeff Kent that was the big prospect in the trade for David Cone. At least Kent was productive in his 4 seasons with the Mets. Besides the Mets were terrible at that time and were going to lose Cone as a free agent anyway.

I'd make that trade any day of the week. Alexander went 9-0 down the stretch to get us into the playoffs. The perfect example of a win-win trade. Sure it stinks for Tigers fans that Smoltz has gone on to be a beast, but if he would've stayed, who knows if he'd be the same without the coaching he got in Atlanta.

Every single Mets fan that posted so far....you deserve this.....
          ....https://<object width="425" height="...mbed></object>

Especially if you went as far back as Nolan Ryan.....
          ...and didn't mention June 15, 1977.
Tom Seaver to the Reds for Pat Zachry, Doug Flynn, Steve Henderson and Dan Norman.
He only finished '77 with 21 wins...and threw a no hitter in '78.

          For shame "Mets fans".

Im gonna stay recent because theo has made some really good moves but signing JD Drew. I hate it, i really do. Every time he gets ups to bat and then strikes out with the bat on his shoulder!!!! UUUUGH i think JD Drew has been brought up more than any other player in this thread

and yes the whole Babe Ruth thing sucks, but its so old now i could careless, i might have hate the red sox if babe ruth would have stayed, we dont know what history would have done, but still a dumb move

I wish the Cubs had never let Kerry Wood go. He was my favorite Cub and I liked Marmol as the set up and Wood as closer a lot more than I like our bullpen now.

Oh, Adam Jones for Bedard, Mickolio, Tillman, and Sherill. I think Jones will be a B+ player, and Bedard is trash.

The Derek Lowe and Varitek for Slocumb trade wasn't bad the year it was done... but the next year boy did he suck.

Bill Swift, Dave Burba, and Mike Jackson for Kevin Mitchell. Swift won 20 games, Jackson went on to become a closer, and Mitchell hit like .255 9hr in half a year.

                  This bum...

He was selected first overall by the San Diego Padres in the 2004 Major League Baseball Draft out of Mission Bay High School. When he signed with the Padres, he received a signing bonus of $3,150,000, which is the second largest signing bonus ever given to a Padres draft pick.[1]
Bush was the first shortstop drafted first overall from high school since the Seattle Mariners took Alex Rodriguez in 1993.[2]
The Padres' selection of Bush in 2004 was controversial from the start. Jeff Niemann, Stephen Drew, and Jered Weaver were considered the top talents in the draft, but San Diego did not want to pay the premium bonus any of them would command as the top overall choice. Instead, they decided to take Bush, who was a talented high school senior from the San Diego area, but in no way near the prospect as the other candidates. The Padres' decision to bypass the top several prospects was widely criticized by baseball experts and fans in San Diego and nationwide.
Never hit well and never got above A-ball until they switched him to pitching. He does have a future in pitching (although time is starting run out), but he was more interested in getting into bar fights, whizzing fastballs past females heads in parties, going to rural areas and picking fights with lacrosse teams, going in front of local media and causing a scene, you get the idea.

As you can see... there were far better players (even though it was a bad draft class in hindsight) they passed up on...

I wish the Yankees never let Fred Mcgriff go, we had him in the minors, and we traded him, Mcgriff was always one of my favorite players, the other move was letting Mattinlgy retire, I wish he player one more year and got his ring

Had Mattingly played in 1996 it was probably going to be for the Marlins as he had had some discussion with them before he retired.
