Red Sox "Top" Prospect to Have Brain Surgery

    http://sports.espn.go.com/boston/news/story?id=4992990

Ryan Westmoreland, considered by some to be the "top" prospect in the Red Sox organization, will undergo brain surgery to remove a "cavernous malformation on the brain" that could be potentially life-threatening.

As a Sox fan, this is sad...but as a regular old human being, this is terrible. Hopefully the procedure goes well and he is able to live a healthy life after.

Damn, hope everything that goes well.

He's been having injury problems the past year or two, but this is just out of left field.

Just an update, but Westmoreland took "batting practice" today for the first time since his surgery last year.

I hate the Reds Sox organization in whole but I feel for that kid and hope all goes well, and he can get back to the game he loves.

              That's awesome news!

Not the biggest Sox fan, but I'm pulling for him to make a full recovery.

Good to see the Travis brothers care.
