    1. They have Aubrey Huff at first base
    2. need that one leader to push them over the hump for a championship.

Reason 2 is the main reason pujols would go there. The giants have incredible, well developed young talent both pitching and hitting wise. That team will stay together for a long time and i can see that as being the reason for pujols to sign with them. And what a treat to the loyal fans by the bay First Bonds now Pujols. Imagine that team can you say 2012 champions

Pujols did play in the outfield his first few years though but it would probably never happen and if it did happen I'd probably just not bother watching baseball anymore.

I hope it happens........ because i'm a Brewers fan. Ryan Howard, while scary, isn't Albert Pujols.

The Phillies are denying the rumor, but usually when teams deny a rumor it may be a little true.

This might be one of those "yeah we talked about it, but it was never a serious discussion" situations.

He also damaged his right elbow playing the OF so there is little chance he ever plays in the OF again.

What I find hilarious about all this is that it makes it seem like the Phillies are the ones considering it so seriously and that the Cardinals would pull the trigger immediately "If only the Phillies would offer it!".

                What a freakin' joke.

He could also become a DH in the AL

                    His glove is extremely valuable.

In the NL. In the AL his bat is much more valuable than his glove ever could be.

Well if he DH's his glove has no value, so yes. Problem is, Ryan Howard is 85% of the player Pujols is. So the Cards would want something else as well. Maybe Hamels, Halliday, Utley, and Howard for Pujols would work.

You would still be losing the value he brings defensively by putting him at DH. Not many are better than Pujols defensively.

I thought Pujols was a free agent at the end of this year, not after the 2011 season.

The Cardinals have a $16 million club option for him, so he'll be back for 2011.
