I believe it's so Kershaw could start the home opener. At least I think that's what I read on here at some point.
Yeah, I'm bored.Comment

Also Ryan - do KC fans actually support the Cards or is this just a geniune appreciation for the player, Pujols?Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.Comment

I hate the Cardinals, naturally, but I don't know how anyone could hate Pujols. I love watching good hitters go to work and Albert is as good as I've ever seen.Ryan Spencer

Re: Opening Week Discussion Thread: April 4 - April 11 (Week 1)
Glad baseball is back.
It was a pretty interesting day. My boy Ryan Doumit hit a three-run jack. Hopefully this is the year that he can stay healthy. He was pretty damn good in 2008.
My Mariners almost blew the game against Oakland tonight. Felix had some control issues but still pitched a good enough game. I am loving the top of our order with Ichiro and Figgins. There's going to be a lot of RBI opportunities for the middle of the order. I think Casey Kotchman will have a breakout year. Nothing spectacular, but I wouldn't be surprised with a .290/20 HR/90 RBI season.
Dare I say Milton Bradley has a .300/25 HR/100 RBI/meltdown-free season? I probably shouldn't, but I'm going to. If you can't relax and play ball in Seattle, you can't play anywhere and you might as well retire. So here's to hoping Milton has a good year and keeps his head on straight. The dude can rake but it's never been a question about his talent, only his attitude. I know it's not Griffey's job but hopefully he can help keep Bradley somewhat happy and out of trouble.
Our rotation right now looks pretty thin. I guess that's what happens when you have Cliff Lee and Erik Bedard on the DL. They need to play above their heads in April to stay in the race, because once those two get back, the Mariners really should contend for a playoff spot (if both can stay healthy).
Jason Heyward...dude is a beast. He'll run away with the ROY IMO, and probably have a .280/30/100 season. He's that good, even at such a young age.
Halladay and the Phils are going to be tough, as are the usual suspects...Yanks, both Sox teams, the Twins, Rays, Rangers and Angels.
It's going to be a good year fellas.Comment

Franklin Morales will be the death of me.
I dont want him sniffing the setup or the closer role.. its either him or Corpas until Street comes back. Until then, it'll be a bumpy ride.Aaron

Here's Tim Tschida's strikezone plot from the Mariners/A's game last night. Keep in mind that this guy is supposed to be a "professional" umpire.
See all those little green ones inside the little black box? Those were called balls.
