Do you do it? Attending games alone

With my girlfriend moving out of the country, it looks like I'll be attending most ball games this year alone. Most of my friends either are not into baseball, or are types that attend a game once a year for kicks.

Any member of the OS find themselves in the same sitiuation? If so, what's your take on it? Personally, it gives me an opportunity to "treat" myself. I bought a $120.00 club level seat to see the Cards when they come to San Francisco. Seats right behind the Giants dugout!

Friends and colleagues not caring for baseball shouldn't deter you from your love of the game!

I've never done it. I wouldn't be completely opposed to it, but I live 2 hours from Milwaukee, so if I only get to 5 or 6 games a year. If it were closer, I'd go by myself, but if I'm driving that far I might as well find some people to go with.

Depends how close you live to the stadium I guess. I go to LSU midweek games by myself all the time, but that's a completely different level.

But then again, I do have "ballpark friends" so I'm never really alone.

Yes, most of my friends are Cub fans and I only live about 30 minutes from US Cellular. But then again, I'm kind of a loner, so I'm completely in my element attending a ball game alone. Maybe I'm crazy, but it's nice to sit and watch a ballgame, LIVE, with no one talking in my ear. My version of peace & quiet I guess.

Absolutely not, that takes a lot of the fun out of going to the game.

I'm a 5 minute train ride from Progressive Field, so yes, I attend games alone sometimes and usually buy the best seats that are still available which are usually a few rows behind home plate.

I've done it once, and I enjoyed it, as someone else has said, it was peaceful

I do this often. My friends are not going to spend 150 or 200 too see a baseball game, but I will.

I have gone to a ball game alone once, in San Diego. Got to see Maddux's 350th win. I was in town for a UCSD campus tour and was by myself, and decided to just go and catch a ball game. It was awesome.

I'm right there with you. It's the same reason I watch my teams on TV alone most of the time.

I've never done it, but if I ever live in a MLB city and close enough to the park, I'm sure I will frequently.

Before my promotion I used to travel a lot. So I have taken in a lot of games by myself.

Minor League games are the best to take in solo. You can find a seat by yourself and just watch the game in peace.

Yup. I'm lucky that I live reasonably close to a ballpark that I can drive to on a whim. A ballpark which historically rarely sells out, so there's always the ability to walk up and catch a game. A lot of times, I'll rarely be in my seat because you can just walk around the concourse there and watch the game from every angle. That's usually what I do. Good way to spend a night if you ask me.

I've done it before. It's a peaceful, easy feeling being there by yourself.

With Reds Tickets being so cheap the past couple seasons in the second half I've gone to a couple solo. It's only an hour drive too, so totally worth it.
