Re: Do you do it? Attending games alone
living in AZ and having every spring site within an hour of my house I will go by myself when I get the chance. My wife will hit the Cub games with me but I simply check out who is slotted to pitch and then check for the best available about two hours beforehand - yields some outstanding seats.
regular season? no. Homerun derby next year though? By myself if I have to.Comment

Re: Do you do it? Attending games alone
I've been mostly going to games solo for the past eight or so years since my dad lost interest in baseball. None of my friends like baseball. Went to opening day Monday and Saturday's game alone.Comment

Re: Do you do it? Attending games alone
I love going to baseball games alone. I can get into the game more. I like to score my games so when there's noone with me I can focus on every pitch, still haven't figured out that darn double switch yet.Originally posted by Anthony BourdainThe celebrity chef culture is a remarkable and admittedly annoying phenomenon. Re: Do you do it? Attending games alone
I've done it before... I see a lot of people saying why they do it alone, but I am curious on why some people don't like going alone.
For me it's convienient to just handle one ticket, get out to the stadium and enjoy a LIVE game. When I go with others I have to arrange a lot of things, collect money, and it winds up being a lot of effort for just one night. Also when I go by myself I usually have better seats. Either because it's easier to move down to the premium seats when you only got to find one seat.. and also because when I go with a group, I usually have to buy the cheapest seat possible in order for a group to want to go.Comment

Re: Do you do it? Attending games alone
Been to quite a few by myself as I've lived close enough to the stadium to go on a spur of the moment. But eventually if you do go regularly you'll meet other people who also go alone.
Caught my first foul ball last year and I was by myself.Owner, Spear Interactive

Re: Do you do it? Attending games alone
I live like 12 blocks south of US Cellular so I go quite a bit. I hate the Sox but love baseball. I am lucky enough to have a couple friends that are baseball diehards so I'm usually able to get someone to go with. I love using stubhub for cheap good seats since the Cell hardly ever sells out, and its easier to find 2 tix. But many times if I have a day off and its a day game.... I'm there. Plus, Wrigley isnt too long of a ride on the Red Line. I agree that you are able to focus more on the game and I love to keep score so it works out well.My Teams:
NFL - Washington Redskins
MLB - Detroit Tigers
NBA - Detroit Pistons
NHL - Washington Capitals
NCAA - Virginia Cavaliers
NCAA - Arkansas Razorbacks
NCAA - Michigan St SpartansComment

Re: Do you do it? Attending games alone
I'm a Cards fan; born and raised in STL. However, I now live about 4 hours from Atlanta and enjoy going to a few Braves games each year. I often go alone, or sometimes with friends....

Re: Do you do it? Attending games alone
I live right down the road from Victory Field,my girlfriend and I go to every home game pretty much but when she has schools on Wednesday and Thursday nights I always end up going to the games by myself. I sorta enjoy it I can keep a score card a lot easier. She loves baseball though so it isn't that hard to keep a scorecard while she is there also.MCRD October 29. Oh Rah!
