Oh, and how can you not like the boy wonder in Boston, Theo Epstein? He out dueled the yankees, and some of the decisions may end up not helping a ton, but at least he didn't sit on his *** or make really bad decisions

Got to go with Theo. Basically got everything they needed to make a run at the East and stuck with his plan. He is only 29 and is making all the right moves.

Jim Hendry is a candidate for Executive of the Year as well. IMO, he's the winner if they make the playoffs. They Cubs were 67-95 last year and finished 30 games out of first place. Now they are only 3.5 back and for a long time they held first place. In the offseason he picked up Eric Karros (hitting .322) and Mark Grudzielanek (hitting .306) for Todd Hundley (now hitting .200 with 1 HR, 8 RBI's.). Plus the Cubs got cash in the deal. He completely rebuilt the bullpen.

Recently he traded for Aramis Ramirez and Kenny Lofton. The Cubs only had to give up Jose Hernandez, Matt Bruback (an average prospect), and a player to be named later. Again, the Cubs also got cash in the deal.
