    Re: Garcia NEEDS To Go...

He gets way too many pitches up in the zone, that's what the problem is. He also falls in love with and relies on his fastball a little too much at times.

I still think the guy is a good pitcher. He looked like a star in 2001 and the first half of last year, too. There is plenty of time for him to figure out how to pitch instead of just throw, but man, he has definitely been getting lit up lately.

his mechanics are very very inconsistent. Every game he goes out there with slight differences in his motion. Its frustrating, but he'll turn in around. Theres no way in hell he gets realesed. He should have won the Cy Young in 2001. He's only 27 and still has the same type of stuff. Hopefully he rededicates himself in the offseason, if he continues to struggle. He needs to have the same type of realese on every pitch. I'm thinking the hitters can tell exactly what he is going to throw. He's trying all sorts of things, searching for answers. 2 years ago I would've rather had him over any of Oaklands big 3....now.............i'm still glad we didn't deal the guy. I think I might consider sending him down to AAA so he can work his mechanics out in a low stress enviorment. Let Soriano take his place, when he gets thing turned around. Don't give up on this guy. He's dominated the Yankees in the playoffs a few times already in his short career.
