Re: Ernie Harwell has died.
Forever the voice and soul of the Tigers franchise. Like everything he did in his wonderful life, he left us with quiet grace. Although he hasn't done play-by-play in a number of years, I always liked knowing that somewhere out there, Ernie was watching the games. He'll definitely be missed.Comment

Re: Ernie Harwell has died.
As a Tiger diehard the thing I will miss most now is that there will be no chance of him popping in the announce booth and doing an inning or two.My Teams:
NFL - Washington Redskins
MLB - Detroit Tigers
NBA - Detroit Pistons
NHL - Washington Capitals
NCAA - Virginia Cavaliers
NCAA - Arkansas Razorbacks
NCAA - Michigan St SpartansComment

Re: Ernie Harwell has died.
One of the all-time greats. Such an influence on sports broadcasting. We posted an article on our website about him. One of our part-time broadcasters spent some time with him and wrote a story based on the experience. Great read..
