Re: Joe Torre out?
Baseball managers just don't matter all that much, so there aren't really any "up and comers". It's more about having spent time on the bench somewhere and having a prior connection to an organization than it is about possessing superior skills of some kind.Member of The OS Baseball Rocket Scientists AssociationComment

Re: Joe Torre out?
I would love to have Fredi Gonzalez in Atlanta next year. He showed last year that he can manage a team without too many star players. He can do so much with so little in other words. It's a joke what the Marlins' salary looks like.Comment

Re: Joe Torre out?
I don't think the Marlins plan on letting Gonzalez go anytime soon. The way things ended for Yost in Milwaukee probably will not give him too many managerial options in the future. That being said, with him working for the Royals now i could see Dayton Moore giving him the Royals job when Trey Hillman is fired/not re-signed...which ever comes first.Comment

Re: Joe Torre out?
Fredi's on the hot seat because Marlins ownership hates him, for whatever reason.
I'll slit my wrists if TP becomes the next manager.
Yost, I doubt it. Plus, he's too similar to Cox. Not that thats a bad thing, but Cox has single-handedly cost us games over the last few years directly b/c of his decisions.
I'd love Torre, but the man is too old I think.Comment
