He has not been good at all catching in the majors. Seems like he's always got some kind of issue.

At least he's actually blowing up AAA pitching. That's somewhat of a positive sign.

Treanor has been far better behind the plate than Salty for the Rangers.

Something like that can't be a physical problem, it's got to be mental. Hopefully he figures it out, but it was my understanding he wasn't even a great defensive catcher to begin with. With Smoak at first, there's no place to put him if he can't get straightened out.

with salty coming over from the braves , it reminds me of another former brave who was moved from behind the plate : dale murphy , but there really isn't room in the OF for him either
