    Oswalt Requests Trade

Where do you think he'll end up. I imagine it will be somewhere in the AL. That's just me.

I'd like to see him in one of two places:

    Minnesota
    or
    Dodgers
    Too Old To Game Club

    Urban Meyer is lol.

Buster Olney mentioned a few big things that may keep him from actually being moved - Money owed this year and health two of them - However, I do feel that this move was a long time coming. We owe it to him for being a true Astro and trying everyday with such a poor supporting cast (both hitters and rotation support) - So in the end, if he does move - I could see him going to the AL. Someone with deep pockets and a chance at the post season that needs a proven arm may bite at the deal. I only hope for my home town teams sake they are able to get some solid talent back in the process. Please, oh please let that be the case....

The Astros are going to have to decide what they want more, a quality player in return, or salary relief, I don't see them getting both.

I would love to see Oswalt as a Dodger but I doubt McCheap wants to open up the wallet

Yeah I would really hate to see Roy go, but I just don't think the Astros are going to get much in return. I think some people are expecting something similar to the Randy Johnson trade back in 98. Personally I don't expect the Astros to get more than maybe one above average minor league player then a couple filler minor league players.

I just wish him luck with his next team, and hope we get a quality prospect or two in return. Oswalt is one of my all time favorite Astros, and I will be sad to see him go, but a trade is in everyone's best interests IMO.

                Honestly, they can't afford him.

If the Rangers could get their sale over with i could see him going to them. The Mets could be possible but Oswalt has said he wants to go to a team with a chance of winning a championship. Even though they are in the same division i wouldn' rule out the Cardinals. I also wouldn't rule out the chance he is stuck in Houston.

I read the Reds are interested in him, but it would have to be after the got rid of Harang or Arroyo or Cordero in order for it to happen. If he would even want to come to Cincy which I doubt because it isn't an easy park for pitchers. Plus the Reds are typically horrible although they may be finally turning a corner with all the young talent they have.

Great pitcher, would love to have him, doubtful though.

Be careful what you wish for because the last pitcher that pulled this (and someone who so happens to be good friends with Oswalt) is now on a sub .500 team while his old team is playing very well in the NL West.

Did Peavy request a trade? I thought San Diego was trying to shed payroll and asked him to accept a trade.

This...Peavy was po'd when he found out they tried to trade him. Later, he did ask for the trade, but only after the Pads told him it would happen and he wanted to help out the club.

I know the Padres were looking to shed payroll, but Peavy made it a point to choose his destination.

He didn't help the situation. I know it's not exactly the same as Oswalt, but the point still stands: be careful what you wish for because it's not always better elsewhere.

Though, I guess for Oswalt, anywhere is probably better than Houston right now. That franchise has a lot to work on.

I hope the Brewers could think of some kind of package to attempt to get Oswalt. We desperately need some pitching help and who knows, maybe he is what we need.

                              Atlanta/St. Louis/Texas

If he is dealt, it will be one of those three. That is the only teams he will waive his FULL no trade clause to.

I'd love for Atlanta to get him so we could move Kawakami out of the rotation, but I don't think the Bravos have the salary space and/or want to move the prospects it would take to get Houston to pay some of his salary.
