Re: June 7th - June 13th MLB Discussion (week 10)

No doubt the kid is loaded with talent and will have a successful career, but am I the only one that thinks this is the most overhyped debut in history? I mean it's still the Nationals (no offense Nats fans) and they're playing the Pirates. He's going to have to face the Phillies, Braves, Mets and Marlins a lot. He's not an everyday player, he cannot win every game for them.

Sorry if this came out the wrong way and I'm not trying to rain on the kid's parade but when I hear the idiot Bob Costas say something about the ball from his first pitch going to Cooperstown I gotta say something lol.

Strasburg has fallen behind on 3 of the 4 batters so far.

HP ump getting some facetime, going to talk with Strasburg. Sigh...

Every day player or not, it's still something special for a number one pick who basically didn't need to be in the minors to be making his debut regardless of who its against. Sure, it could've been like Peavy who made his major league debut against the Yankees, but what can you do? If anything, blame the major league system for the arbitration stuff that teams want to avoid.

Plus, I think Heyward has the same ridiculous hype too.

In any case, another punch out, way to come from behind Strasburg.

Damn. Hits 100 and then a nasty breaking ball for the K.

Also, MLB.com is giving away a free look at the first four innings of the game.

Base hit, Strasburg is officially a bust.
