Time to give one of the hungry youngins that was fighting for a spot in the starting rotation his chance. Correia has been very Walter Silva-esque the past month or so.Comment

6 innings of baseball that was the most interesting. Almost 2 hours of a delay because of hail which didnt happen but heavy rains. Then the 4th-6th it got insane with winds blowing South. So weird and yet fun when its was 45 and rainy... its June.
First inning a guy was selling snowcones but he came back the next inning with a plate full of hot chocolate.
As for the game, didnt expect the ball to fly like it did with the 3 homeruns.Aaron

P.S. Carlos Pena is on fire. He has now homered in five straight games. In his last five games he is 9/20 with 6 HR, 9 RBI and 9 R. Mendoza Line, here we come!Comment

Re: June 7th - June 13th MLB Discussion (week 10)
Good news, bad news, better news.
Good news: I successfully acquired a pair of Field Box seats (section 140, row T) to see Strasburg pitch here in Cleveland tomorrow at Jac... err, Progressive Field for $160, or roughly $10 more than face value each.
Bad news: The ticket agency I bought them from e-mailed me today and said there was a mix up and that they had already sold those tickets before selling them to me.
Better news: Their policy is that they must replace the tickets in any event of a mix up with equal or better seats so I am now bumped into the Diamond Box seats in the same section, six rows closer (row N) for no extra charge.Comment

At what point does this swoon by the Phillies become more than just a slump? I keep waiting on them to snap out of it, but good grief they are struggling. I sure wish the Braves would put some distance between them and the Mets."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. Re: June 7th - June 13th MLB Discussion (week 10)
I thought this was pretty cool, per LL.
Daniel Nava is 27.
Daniel Nava got cut by Santa Clara University and had to enroll in a junior college before Santa Clara later wanted him back.
Daniel Nava went undrafted and signed on with an Indy League team in Chico.
The Red Sox signed Daniel Nava out of Chico and put him in A-ball at 25, where Nava OPS'd .948.
The Red Sox then shifted Daniel Nava between A-ball and AA the next year, at 26, and Nava OPS'd .991.
This year, at 27, Daniel Nava spent two months in AAA, where he OPS'd .856.
And, earlier today, Daniel Nava got promoted to the Major Leagues, and in the Major Leagues, he faced Joe Blanton and hit the first pitch he saw over the fence for a grand slam.

Carlos Pena just hit another round tripper. That's six consecutive games now that he has gone yard.
Brandon Phillips is also 2/2 (with a HR and a SB) thus far in tonight's game extending his hitting streak to 15 games.
Glad to see two of my favorite players on absolute fire at the same time.Comment
