Guys like Reed Johnson and Marlon Byrd

I'm not saying this as a homer, but I love watching these guys play. They just hustle and give their all on every play, and I wish there were more people that played like them.
Kris Bryant doesn't hit homeruns, he destroys pitcher's dreams. #Bryantwatch

Yep, Reed Johnson was one of my fav players when he was on the Jays. Just a throwback player.

Yep guys like Reed Johnson, Marco Scutaro and others of that type who are a bit overlooked tend to be players I admire a lot because the play the game with a ton of hustle.

This is why Shane Victorino is a phan phave in Philly. He's the same type of player...although I don't remember Marlon being such a hustler when he came up w/ the Phils.

            Agreed.

Reed is such a scrappy player that gets the job done. Jays shouldn't have let him go....that Shannon Stewart 2.0 experiment didn't work out.

When Aaron Rowand is hitting well, he's my favorite Giant. His field hustle is nearly unprecedented.

About time Marlon Byrd started getting some recognition. Easily one of my favorite players.

I loved watching him play on the Rangers. Tons of hustle and he looked to be great for team chemistry. I don't think I have ever seen anyone dive as much he did in the outfield. And not just nonchalent dives... these were completely necessary, full speed, violent and painful dives that took some serious guts and obvious desire to win.

It was sad to see him go.

Loved Marlon Byrd in Arlington. He was a fan favorite.

I don't think I ever saw him take a play off. He busted his *** on every play.

Yup, I was at a game earlier this year where the cubs were up I think 10 runs. He was still going all out diving for a ball in the outfield despite the score not being close. I really didn't know what we'd be getting this year when Marlon Byrd signed with the cubs because all I could see were stats. But after seeing him play, I absolutely love him.

Yeah Marlon is a beast. He has easily become the fan favorite in Chicago. Love watching him play. Like you all said, he busts his *** on every play, wish we could have a team full of him and Mark DeRosa's.

It's always great to have players that hustle, makes the game a lot more interesting. And shows that the players actually do care to try and not just in it for the money. (Not saying players on my favorite team don't hustle.)
