    2010 AL Central

This is turning into quite the race, three weeks ago a lot of people were picking the White Sox as sellers, not they sit back 1.5 back, Tigers at .5 back.

This is going to be one heck of a finish as usual.

Twins HAVE to pick up a front line starter via trade (Lee, Haren, or Oswalt), has to happen for them to have the best shot at winning this division.

Anyone happen to catch Thome's triple last night? First since 2004, laughed a good amount as he and his one gear rolled around the base paths.

I was guilty of thinking the Twins had in the bag after the first month or two. Stupid me, haven't I learned that this division never has a winner until the last week?

The Twins do not have to pick up a Lee-type starter to win the division. If they want to make it past the first round of the playoffs, they do, but they can win the division with basically the same rotation they won it with last year.

The interleague portion of the schedule was not as kind as usual to the Twins. They had some tough teams that were hot, while the Tigers and White Sox had an easier go of it in comparison.

That was a huge series win for the Twins against the Tigers. I think the Twins will still edge it out in the end because their lineup is far more dangerous top-to-bottom than the teams chasing them.

We need Blackburn to get his head on straight though... He was pretty solid last year, Duensing should get a spot start or two if Blackburn keeps struggling...

Slowey rebounded well yesterday, I was very happy about that.

Gotta at least split with the Rays this weekend, wish I was up there for the series.

Don't look now, but the Indians are about to win their fifth straight game.

This is going to be another year where the AL Central beats the crap out of each other and the champ has like 87 wins.

The AL Central has always been really tight.. Every year, it looks like one team is going to run away with it, and then it usually comes down to the last week of the season (or last day like last year.) It pains me to say it, but I think the Twins are going to take it right now. The Tigers are in first now, but that won't last to long..

Twins and White Sox will both go berzerk in August/September, as usual. I still remember 2006 when the Tigers won 16 of 20 late in the year and actually lost ground on BOTH teams.
