      The Yankees and Red Sox are #1 and #2 respectively in OBP. The Yankees and Red Sox are also #1 and #2 respectively in runs scored.

        Cano's objective is to drive in runs - he's batting in the middle of the lineup amongst the big boys. And you drive in runs by swinging the bat, not by walking. (unless the bases are loaded, of course)

        So he's should be drawing walks so Francisco Cervelli and Ramiro Pena can drive him in? I'll take my chances with Cano swinging the bat. No one ever gets a bases-clearing walk.

          Walks are just fine. Hits are better....potentially 4 times better.
