The OP says he got it from a reliable source through e-mail. A quick GIS I did turned up the bleacher report link. That's the only reason I posted it. I assumed that's where he saw the rumor. I still haven't seen that rumor anywhere else though. Not putting much stock in it.

Ahh, I actually figured that's where he got the info from. Didn't see his post, but like you I am skeptical of it too. I figure it would've come out from somewhere else by now(who really knows though, there's 24 days left and we'll know for sure by then).

Lol, it would be stupid on their part, but its not too long till they sign someone else to a bloated contract. At least Carlos Silva was a great trade for them.

Yeah, our GM is pretty much a bonehead. Wouldn't be suprised if he did this then followed with signing Aramis Ramirez to a 4 year extension. LOL

Dont forget another extenstion for ALfonso Soriano for 3 more years with 20mil a year. Plus however longer hes already with cubs

Alright nothing has come of his and the only evidence I can find is Bleacher Report which doesn't count. Closing this up. If you want to keep discussing rumors use the Trade Deadline thread.
