How many swings does each player typically take during batting practice?

In real life before the game during on-field BP each player will take around 25 swings. Most teams use a routine where you get 5 swings in a certain type of situation then you rotate to the next person in your group. Most groups usually have 4-5 players or so in it. Usually each MLB team has 3-4 groups to hit because relief pitchers almost never hit and starting pitchers might hit once or so per week in the NL.

BP example -
1st round - Try to Hit and run
2nd round - Try to hit behind the runner
3rd round - Try to drive a run in from 2nd base
4th round - Try to get a man home from 3rd base
5th round - Free swing

There is really no telling how many swings they might take in the cages or off a tee below the stands. A lot of that depends on if they are struggling or not. Also, players sometimes will come in and take early BP on the field before the stadium is ever open to the public.

My best friend played in the minors for about 10 years.
He told me they had 5 rounds.
Round 1- 6 swings 3 to the right side/3 bunts
round 2- 5 swings hard contact swings/line drives
round 3- 4 swings flyball swings
round 4- 5 swings free swings
round 5- 6 swings free swings
