This is not a good fit IMO. I think he works better with a veteran team as his managerial style tends to wear thin especially with younger players. He could probably help groom some of the younger guys if they`re receptive to him but from the overall scheme of things he doesn`t fit very well with the personnel there.

He's certainly better than Bobby Valentine.Originally posted by Gibson88Anyone who asked for an ETA is not being Master of their Domain.
It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine. -

He's a very well prepared manager. For an organization that looks completely lost, and appears, at times, that they decided earlier in the day that they were going to play a baseball game, they need it.Comment

Re: Buck Showalter hired as O's manager
He did a good job with Texas, Anaheim was simply better during his tenure. Buck knows baseball and how it should be played (hello, Adam Jones!) so it'll be interesting how well his young players respond. He knows talent, that's for sure.

Re: Buck Showalter hired as O's manager
Supposedly he wants a high profile job which is why backed out of the Marlins and the Orioles. If Joe Torre leaves LA after the season ends we will probably hear Valentine's name there too.Comment
