Have any of you guys ever heard of Walter Young? Some article I was reading said that he could be the next catcher/first basemen for the Pirates. I looked at his stats and he is putting up great stats for A Lynchburg. He is batting .290 with 18 homeruns and 78 rbi, but he has 76 strikeouts. He is already 23 and still in A ball. Does anyone know anything about him or if he is anygood?

He's absolutely huge (in terms of size). He did a good job in spring training hitting several home runs. Since he's only at A ball right now, I don't expect to see him for at least another year. I don't know why he's 23 and still in A ball though -- maybe he came from college?

Now that you mention it I remember him doing really well in Spring training. And that makes sense if he went to college that he would still only be in A ball.

On another note how long till McClendon figures out that Biemel can't save a game, he can't even get lefties out. Ok Jose Hernandez did miss a foul ball but still, putting Biemel in to get a big out, when will McClendon figure it out? Leave Lincoln in there let him try to get himself out of the jam.
