I see about .300 25 homers and 100 rbi's in the next few years. He'll take a little while to develop his power.

You won't see 18 homers from the guy in 4 years, but he will be a good #2 hitter... when he finds his control, he will be the good control type hitter.

The only reason he isn't hitting homers is because he's focusing more on his average. He'll start going yard once he feels like his average wouldn't suffer.

Man, if Brady Anderson and Luis Gonzales can go yard 50 times in a season in this day and age, Burroughs can hit 20 to 25 for a good chunk of his career.

He can put a charge in the ball, he just needs to find his place.

No, you see, I'm not saying that he couldn't, I know he can now, he just isn't going for that kind of swing.

Like I said, the #2 hitter in the lineup is a good control hitter... he needs to know how to place the ball to at least bring the runner over... most are lefties because they hit the ball to the right side more often than to the left... but lots are righties too because they are good control hitters and knows how to handle their inside-out swing regardless of the pitch location... I think Burroughs will be this kind of guy, he just turns out too quickly. He needs to stay on the inside seams and handle that inside-out swing on outside pitches. You don't see him go oppo too much, and since he's not a power hitter, and because he doesn't have much speed, he needs to learn to expand the depth of his hitting zones. I feel that he is not much help for the rest of the season, and since there's almost no chance for them to make it to the playoffs, he should go back to the AAA team and learn from the hitting coach. Timing is his potential greatness... he just needs to know that. If he wants to be a power hitter, then he should go and be traded to the Rangers or Brewers... but NOT stay in San Diego.
