Or if he actually stayed in baseball his entire career.

Mine is John Smoltz with the Tommy John surgery, but it's more of a case of whether he'd be a HOF if he didn't. He came back and became a dominant closer after starting for nearly 15 years, then went back to starting and still was a #1 guy. He was amazing before the surgery but his performance afterwards definately cemented his case.

It's hard though...especially when I got my neighbor playing their franchise across the street...maybe I will occupy myself with Glamore Magazine.

I was always a fan of Darryl Kile, so when he died, that was big. I would have liked to have seen him pitch 5 or 6 more years, as he was only 33 when he died, and was coming off of 2 of the best years of his career, and was having a good year his final year.

Yea that was pretty sad. Another one that was murdered that only reds fan might know was Darnell Stenson. He did really well at the end of the year, but was murdered in Arizona.

who was the player that played for the...Brewers or Astros (I think) that was murdered back in the late 1970s? If I remember correctly, I've heard and read that he was an All-Star caliber player before he was killed.

EDIT - Nevermind, did a little research. Played for the Twins & Angels. Lyman Bostock.

Career .311 hitter in 4 seasons.

Yes, the other injuries to me didn't seem THAT bad but from what i've read about this one tonight.....Yeah, it's headed in that direction of "what might've been."

Not a career but if Jack Clark didn't get injured the Cardinals win the 87 series.

Should've had 3 in the 80's. Up yours Denkinger.

Being a Packer fan.. I do happen to like Favre still.

Thought it'd be interesting, with all the good and one bad records he has.. What if Favre DID get injured? As in missed lots of time kind of injured.

It's somewhat amazing how stepping on a bag the wrong way can end the upturn of your career.

I remember that day like it was yesterday, I loved Corey Patterson.

Back on topic; what if Don Majkowski didn't get injured?
