2nd Favorite Team

I'm a die hard Indians fan and I want another team to cheer for. Any thoughts on how I should pick one? I know its a weird question but i can't figure it out.

Go with a instinct. For me, I'm a diehard Cubs fan, but I've always liked the Braves.
My main reason is outside of the Cubs players, when I was young I saw the Braves on TBS and knew of Chipper Jones and that was about it.

For me, the Braves are the only team I've seen throughout my life. I've been a Reds fan for most of my life, but since I've seen so many Braves games, I can't help but like them, as well. Living in SC, I've seen over 100 of their games every year since I got interested in baseball, so...naturally, I've grown to like the players.

if you're a fan, then you'd already know ... that said, if you're a cleveland fan then pick a NL team to root for ... and it might as well be the indian's in state rival too

The Rangers are really the only team I care about, but the Pirates are my second favorite team just because they have the best caps. I don't actually know much about them, though.

1) Giants
2) Braves
3) Red Sox

The Braves have always been a great #2 team, especially back when they were on TBS daily. They would easily be my favorite if I didn't live near SF and wasn't swooned by the great Barry Bonds.

I don't blame you. But for me, it's any team playing the Yankees, but if I had to choose, the Cardinals, or Brewers maybe?

Pretty hard to just randomly pick another team to cheer for, gotta just start watching some other games will eventually find some players you like get attached to,etc

I can't really use the "I grew up watching" strategy. Why? Well, I grew up watching the Dodgers, even after moving from LA to Phoenix in the second grade. Once I found out about the Diamondbacks being created prior to the 1998 season, I started watching them as my new "hometeam" since I was going to finish growing up in Arizona.

So now you see my dilemma. If my second favorite team is who I grew up watching, I'd be committing blasphemy. I'm a Dbacks fan, good or bad.

I only really care about the Blue Jays. Now there are some teams that have people working for them that I really admire and respect but I wouldn't go out of my way to be a FAN of those teams.

Just for the record those teams are: Twins, Angels, Rangers, Braves (well this will be my last year caring one way or another about them) and Phillies.

Here it's easy to have the Reds as a second time for me, they have every game on tv and since I don't like Atlanta, the reds would be my choice.

Atlanta has always been an automatic first choice for me. I live in Atlanta for a while when I was younger, and most of my family is from the area too. So I really didn't have much choice in the matter.

Though I've lived in Florida for a while now, and most of my friends are Marlins fans too, so I'll pull for the Fish whenever it doesn't directly affect the Braves. They've just grown on me over the years. I dunno, maybe it's just because they're always on TV here.

I've always though it was good to have a second team, but for me it would be hard to just pick one out of thin air and say, "this is going to be my #2 team". If I were you I would just sorta put my feelers out and start paying attention to some teams that might interest me. You'll find things that you like about other teams and eventually you'll find a team that you don't mind pulling for as a backup.

I have recently started liking the Cardinals as a second favorite team but that is mostly because of Albert Pujols. Once the playoffs start though I root for any team that is playing the Yankees.

I grew up in Virginia and actually rooted for the Yanks as a kid because Mattingly was my favorite player. Before high school I moved to Michigan and Donnie Baseball had retired so I became a Tigers fan and have been one ever since. Since DC didnt have a team I just went with whom my favorite player played on. Now I'd say the Nats are my 2nd team though.

I seem to have interest in the White Sox and Redsox.

My team is the Phillies, so yeah its got to be AL teams.

If I HAD to pick a NL team i guess it would be the Pirates. Not a threat, and I liked them when I was younger.
