    Welcome Felix Heredia to the Bronx..

    Bronx, NY (Sports Network) - The New York Yankees acquired pitcher Felix Heredia off waivers from Cincinnati on Monday.

    The lefthander made a team-leading 57 relief appearances this season for the Reds. He has been particularly effective in his last 22 games, posting a 2.38 earned run average, while opposing batters hit .205.

    Heredia struck out five Yankees in three innings for Cincinnati on June 5.

    In eight big league seasons, the 28-year-old has appeared in 449 games with Florida, the Chicago Cubs, Toronto and the Reds and held left-handed hitters to a .220 average.

          I never thought as a Cub fan that Felix Heredia would be willingly picked up by the New York Yankees to be one of their primary left handed relievers......

                I can understand why you guys want to get rid of Orosco. Let me guess, he blew a couple of leads for you guys already, huh? Been like that this whole year, especially when he was with the Padres.

                      With this deal the Reds only have 8 of their 25 players active from their opening day roster. That is what I call rebuilding.
