Um......it'd never work. Buffalo is such a small market and a shrinking one (a TON of people have left that city in the last 20-30 years) that it would end up being just another bad small market team in no time at all. You also can't do the whole regional thing because Toronto already has a team though I suppose they could attract people from the Hamilton-Niagara area. The rest of WNY is a bit too spread out to get fans consistently either. Buffalo is strictly a minor league town when it comes to baseball.

BTW I agree with the sentiments elsewhere to bring a team back to Brooklyn ASAP! If they're in the NL i'd immediately become a fan and i'd want them to copy the uniform aesthetic of the Dodgers as much as possible as well.

Hmm, then it would appear they hired Barry Melrose about a decade too late.

With the Melrose Mullett there would have to be some kind of genius Mad Max and the Thunderdome marketing gimmick here somewhere.

Well, you do have the chop shops from the infamous "Iron Triangle" across the street, LOL... Not sure how much longer they'll be there though, since they're trying to clean up the area. Those cats provided an invaluable service. When someone sideswiped my car and broke the side mirror, I was able to go over there and get what I needed instead of getting bent over by the dealer.

I think Portland is a prime location for a MLB team. They will be losing the Portland Beavers organization because of the dumb owner who tried to get a stadium built for them by converting the current one to a Soccer-only Venue and lost out.

Yep. Portland just filed their relocation papers and are currently in the process of trying to move to Escandido, but if that falls through it will probably be Tucson.

            The Beavers are officially dead.

I love how people constantly disrespect Tampa fans about loyalty and desire to watch the games.. clearly everyone that says that does not live in Tampa or Florida for that matter. The biggest reason besides the fact that Tampa's economy is complete sh** due to negligence of politics, the Tropicana Field isn't even located in Tampa, it is some 40+ miles from even being remotely close to Tampa.. It is located in St. Pete/Clearwater in an area that is lower class.. That is why the fans are trying to make a statement. For the past 3 years fans have been arguing for them to relocate to the Tampa Bay area, only logically would they then get more revenue due to the fact that Tampa is in the middle of all the major cities so driving wouldn't be an issue as well as a broader span of population. Also a retractable stadium wouldn't be possible, first off due to this is the lightning capital of the United States and any year we are capable of getting bombarded by hurricanes and tornandoes, which we are also in the top 5 for. Sadly we already are a farming team for more profitable organizations, I hate to say it but Carl Crawford will more then likely be a yank next year because were not going to be able to afford him, pena probably won't be with the team next year as well.. Which is why there trying to make a bid for the world series again. George Steinbrenner was actually thinking of buying the Tampa Bay Rays because he seen the potential they have, doesn't hurt that he actually likes Tampa/Florida more then NY, hence why he lived down here as well as was buried. Unfortunately, I don't see his greedy kids doing the same thing in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if in the next couple of years they start to pull out of the yankees organization. Also the concert series games cater to old people, pretty much all of the bands are from the 60's era, which any modern fan wouldn't know a thing about, Tampa is just notorious for bad marketing skills..

I had to drive to the Tampa area a few years ago to pick up my wife and kids. Her family lives in Lakeland, which is between Tampa and Orlando. I was tripping off the fact that I was able to hear a Yankee game broadcast on the radio. Isn't there some kind of rule that prohibits another team's games from being broadcast in another team's market?

                  Dear Stuart Sternberg,

I hate you with every fiber of my being and think you are a very bad man.

                    Harsh...
Weather has really nothing to do with a retractable roof, unless i'm just ******** but common sense is that the tropicana field has a roof so if a hurricane/storm was in the area you just simply close the roof. The Marlins are getting a retractable roof in their stadium
