I Like Jason he's the only guy in the trade I didn't want to go because like I've said before it looks like he can hit MLB Pitching now rather than later like Nady who is still struggling.
I know it's just one game, but I LIKE Jason Bay!

Bay will turn out good, Pittsburgh fans, be glad we first acquired him from the Mets last year. I hope he turns out great.
As for Giles, he's impacted the whole team already.

who did you trade to the mets for him?

We traded Steve Reed (now with the Rockies) and Jason Middlebrook (turned out to be an average pitcher)for Jason Bay and some other prospect.Comment

Why? He almost hit the ball out of the yard in his first two at bats, he walked in his third, and he struck out looking on a very questionable 3-2 pitch.
He's only 24, but it looked like he really knows the strikezone for someone his age. I don't remember him flailing with the bat or taking bad swings once, and he held back on quite a few good "out" pitches when he ended up walking.
If he does this all the time, he's going to do well!

That means 0-3.
Giles: 2-3, BB, RBI, R

Bay was actually 2-3, 1 R, 1 BB, 1 RBI

My bad, I thought when he said almost hit the ball out of the yard, he meant he hit it to the track, but it was caught.Comment

Wow, almost similar statistics on their first games with their new team, only Bay's double is the difference.Comment

So far, he's 1-1 with a walk and another double today. He's taken a lot of close pitches for balls again today against Willis.
Compare him to say...JJ Davis. Davis has already struck out twice and looked pretty lousy at it too.“In my lifetime, we've gone from Eisenhower to George W. Bush. We've gone from John F. Kennedy to Al Gore. If this is evolution, I believe that in twelve years, we'll be voting for plants.” - Lewis BlackComment
