Has Mariano Rivera lost his stuff?

Man, Mariano Rivera has done nothign for the Yankees lately... Steinbrenner needs to do something about this GM not doing anything... what's going on with Rivera? What did he change? I mean ever since Benitez was traded there (and he left in a juff also), Rivera stunk.

Also tonight in Fenway... would've given up a homerun in any other ballpark, but since it was a liner, the 37 foot green monster held it in. Either way it scored runs.

I don't think he has it anymore. Who else agrees?

He's just having a bad stretch. He goes through one every year. By October he'll be lights out!

Well if he keeps on averaging performances like this they won't MAKE it to October.

He's probably lost some stuff but it's too early to tell. What seperates great pitchers from average ones is how they adjust after they lose a little soemthing off their pitches. I say give him a few more appearances and maybe even some time next year. If he doesn't improve then yeah he's done.

I think he just has control problems right now. His pitch sequences arent effective when all he does is throw cutters inside to lefties and away from righties. Its about time he uses his two-seamer more and even his four-seamer. I'm tired of seeing 95% cutters. Hitters aren't stupid. Scouting reports or no scouting reports, it doesn't take a genius to figure out wats coming. Hitters seem to be zoning in on one zone (up and in if ur left-handed) and when they dont see the ball in that zone, they dont swing. Right handers seem to be waiting for that cutter to cut down the middle so they can drive it. Rivera used to get people chasing some bad 4-seamers rising out of the strike zone but thats not effective if your not throwing strikes. I would love to see him come up with a new pitch like a changeup or a splitter but I dont kno how hard it is to come up with new pitches.
