    Hall of Fame Ballots Set

    MLB.com article

Remember you have to replace the stars with .-j-s

It's time to end the ridiculous fact that Bert Blyleven isn't in the HOF. Inductees will be announced in early January.

It will be interesting to see what the voters do with Juan Gonzalez and Rafael Palmeiro. I think that finger-wagging in Congress is going to hurt Rafa.

It is interesting to read that Palmeiro hopes that people will look past his final season and the finger wagging and focus on "the 19 years i played the game the right way". He more than McGwire will be an interesting test case to see if he can manage enough votes to stay on the ballot.

Jeff Bagwell is likely the only first-timer to have a real chance of election. Roberto Alomar, Barry Larkin, Tim Raines, and Blyleven all have very good chances that at least two of them will enter this time around.

Blyleven and Alomar will get in. Nobody else will be particularly close.

Yea, I think it's a lock for Alomar and Blyleven. Both missed barely last year.

Tim Raines will get in some day, but not today or tomorrow. Someday.

Jeff Bagwell will probably get some good support, but I doubt he gets 75% in his first go. He was never clearly the best 1B during his time. Someday. Not today but sooner than Raines.

I think Blyleven and Alomar are definitely getting in this year. Bagwell has the best chance of first time guys this year, but I do think that Larry Walker deserves consideration somewhere down the road.

But of the guys that have been on the ballot for a while, I would love to see Barry Larkin, Edgar Martinez, & Fred McGriff get some votes this year, as I think they are all deserving.

Walker is an interesting case because i think they may use the years he played on Astroturf against him with Montreal and then use the Coor's Field effect against him for the rest of his numbers.
