Love this move by the White Sox. Now if they can re-sign Konerko, then we'd got a nice formidable offense.

I don't understand why the O's only made a 4/$40 mil offer. We need a big bat (amongst other things) and we try to lowball one of the premier power hitters? Come on front office, you gotta come stronger than that if you want to get the players you're after!

          edit: reopened.

          Carry on.

Adam Dunn does actually deserve his own thread. About time he got the long term deal he deserves.

So all this complaining about the Adam Dunn thread should be re-opened (in the Adrian thread), and well, nobody is even talking about it now that it is open!

            I expected better.

I just find it silly they offered Werth all this money and years, and let Dunn walk. Nats have me scratching my head a bit.

And here I thought it was some kind of incredible injustice, brought on by a massive East Coast bias, that this thread got shutdown in the first place. Turns out nobody gives a @#$%.

Except for Werth being capable of playing a quality defensive outfield, while Dunn is at best a below average first baseman.

That doesn't justify the difference in years and money. Defense helps, but not to the tune of 3 years and $70 million.

You're right, Werth's contract is a bit of an albatross, but he's still a considerably more valuable player than Dunn is.

One could make the case that Dunn as a DH is not THAT much less valuable that Werth as a RF. It is not as far off as the contracts show they are

Gotta love those Red Sox/Yankee fans who thinks that they are the only two teams in baseball.

Just to let you know: Yes, they still play the World Series if neither of those teams make it.

This probably goes way over my head because I don't see any indication of this in the current thread?
