    CUBS in first...all alone!!!!

I'm surprised no one has posted this yet...

For the first time in a long time, we're in first place, all alone! Yes, Houston is only .5 games back, but it's great to be in first with a 4 game winning streak and having take 4 out of 5 from the Cards. I have a feeling this is just the momentum booster we needed. If we can take 2 out of 3 from the Expos, we'll be in very, very good shape, with the Cards & Stros taking each other on over the next few weekends.

It's going to be a fun couple of weeks!

Houston should've been 1 1/2 games back, they got away when they beat us 5-4 with that knuckleballer Jared Fernandez, second game we lost indefinitely because of horrible pitcher Kevin Jarvis.

Yeah I don't know how you lost to Fernandez. Thanks for nothing.

I don't know why or how we lost to him twice this year. I think the team needs to start listening to Phil Nevin (the guy pictured in my avatar) when facing the guy. Phil basically owns him.

Don't get me wrong, that game was a close one, maybe if the other people would've done something else instead of letting Phil do most of the work (mostly during the whole series until Giles stepped up yesterday).
