Re: 3/31 - 4/10 Game Discussion Thread
That's an understatement.
Beckett gave this Sox team exactly what they needed. A long, incredible start to finally give the overworked bullpen some rest and to show the rest of the rotation (sans Lester) that you can go more than 2 innings without giving up a homerun.Comment

I'm thoroughly impressed with Beckett tonight considering how inconsistent and average he's been the past couple years. And to have this dominant of a performance against the Yankees gives me some hope he could have a bounce back season.Patriots

Is it just me or is a sacrifice bunt in the 8th inning with a 4 run lead a little unusual? Especially having a speedster like Ellsbury on 2nd. What's the point of moving him up to 3rd?Patriots

Give up the out so the next batter could've driven him in with a fly ball to the outfield. Any run counts these days, so might as well try a little small ball.Comment

Nice to see Beckett put the team on his back for a night. and while I don't subscribe as adamantly as ESPN that the guy calling the game is the key to everything, if Beckett (or anyone else on the staff) is more comfortable with Varitek out there, keep running him out. It's not like we're losing much offense by benching Salty...lol.Comment
