Do you hate "Mac" and "Gonzo" as well? And I assume you call Chipper "Larry"?

Remove Everyday Johnny and my statement is the same

Mac and Gonzo are normal nicknames, and when is the last time anyone called Chipper Larry?

Just checked, and yup, it was after the Brewers series (May 10th) where we swept and went on to lose only 4 games than month.

I can understand that. I know when it was let out that the LSU football team gave players uniform nicknames (Initials+ Number; PP7, RS10, SR34, KS11, so on so forth) and LSU fans started using it, it kinda got aggravating to non-LSU fans, but it's just different strokes for different folks. I think it attaches a kind of endearing (or, not so endearing) association to a player and is somewhat and honor that a players gets a nickname, but it's easy to see how others can be against it when people sometimes have no idea who you're talking about.

From here on out, when the Braves play the Philz (err, Phillies) or you are engaging in a Braves-related conversation, I'll drop the nicknames.

          kapeesh?

He gets called Larry everywhere the team goes...here in SD last week people were chanting, "Laaaarrrryyy...Laaarrryyy" just like everywhere else.

Nah, you don't have to drop them I was just voicing my displeasure with them. Doesn't mean you should drop it. But if you do - my man

Stanton has been great today, just hit a triple. 3-4 with a HR and a triple

Really? I literally never heard anyone refer to him as Larry unless they are talking about how Chipper isn't his real name

No, I'll drop the nicknames if you're involved. No reason we can't be civil, it's only May 2nd.

It's just standard heckling though. You WILL hear it in Citi, where Chipper/Mets can be related to a Reggie Miller/Knicks type deal.

But, I'm a Phillies fan. I don't know what "civil" is.

It gets chanted in opposing ballparks all the time...not so much in later years I don't think, but it used to be all the time. I think Shea was the worst...they might have even started it.

And I'm an LSU fan. Don't you know us swamp people have so sense for modesty?

edit: hell, look at my title for proof that us LSU fans love our nicknames

Yeah, never heard that. Never been to a Braves away game, though.
