How about instead of not getting caught they just don't drive drunk at all?

I like the way you think.

I will never understand why professional athletes drink and drive.

Isn't there a transport service for professional athletes if they get drunk. If so why not use it.

Even if there isn't, there's alway a cab company. Or call a friend.

Yea I know but I thought they made a big issue with this when Braylon Edwards got his last one. But I agree all that money a can fare is just petty change to them.

It's because it doesn't affect them the way it would a normal middle class citizen.

I know if I was stupid enough wind up with a DUI, it would be a life shattering event. My license would automatically be suspended for a year(FL), I wouldn't have a way to get to work, and I'd be out any where from 5-15K after all of the fines and court fees were paid off. It would have an adverse effect on my life for years, and wind up probably being one of the worst things to ever happen to me. And that's just what would happen with no one getting hurt. If that happened.. game over for Jgainsey.

Millionaire athlete.. not so much. Not being able to drive and big fines are all just minor annoyances. The PR hit would be significant for a short period of time, but nothing really life altering. As long as they're still performing at a competitive level in their sport, they're going to be afforded several chances. Even if they have multiple run ins with the law. I'm not saying that's what runs through a professional athlete's head before they drink and drive, but they definitely don't have the voice in the back of their head telling them their life could be turned upside down.

If someone is hurt from their recklessness, they have the best lawyers money can buy to completely minimize any possible punishment. Worst case scenario, their career is over, and it's off to the tough life of being an unemployed multi-millionaire.

If you think about it, it's really pretty easy to understand why some professional athletes behave the way they do.

There's a transport service for EVERYONE in a lot of states. The bar will pay for a cab and get reimbursed. It's usually paid for through a state association of bars, not by the government.

Yes, but I think he meant a "team provided" one, in which most teams have.

Yes that is what I meant but I agree with y'all there is always a can service. The only reason I brought this up was I remember the Braylon Edwards news and how they did a special on how most teams have a transport service. But I was saying to see if anyone knew if MLB is like the NFL in those regards or is the transport service just from the NFL.
