    Ricky Romero was DEALIN tonight!

The Jays needed that because for all the hits they had they could only muster 2 lousy runs.

    Oh well a win's a win

Rockies played their first solid baseball game in awhile. None of that garbage moonshot swings, just putting ball into play to move the runners around.

Padres didnt quit though and made it very interesting

31 wins out of the last 34, I believe, against Pittsburgh at Miller Park.

Dang was that a classic Colorado game. Nice to see the Padres finally get to Jorge de la Rosa, but both sides didn't have the pitching going that's for sure.

Game of the year so far (excluding no-hitters) in my opinion. The two best teams in their division going right at each other all night. Glad our Redlegs pulled it off although I thought Renteria should have been called out on strikes in the 10th. But oh well we'll take it. Half game out of first now so hopefully we're turning the corner at basically the same point we did last year.

I don't think GOTY. It was a very good game though, and an amazing ending. I thought Renteria would have got called out on strikes, because one of the 2 strike pitches looked good.

Opening Day was great but tonight could be a game where we look back and say "that was a statement game".

Yeah Franklin blew 4 saves and they bumped him down a peg, he continued to get hard so they bumped him down even lower, he is really doing awful this season.

                      0-3, 9.49 ERA, 5 K, 4 BB, 4 HR, 12.1 IP, 4 BSV, 1 SV

Pretty brutal statline for the guy who opened the season at closer, and he has done just as bad in middle relief, his last appearance 2 days ago against the Cubs after the rain delay, he came in and went 3 innings allowing 7 hits and 4 ER, to his credit he saved the bullpen, but he also gave us no chance to win that game.

As much as I dislike Franklin and would prefer he just get DFA he isn't the only problem, we have a lot of guys out there who have good stuff who just can't handle the pressure of closing situations for whatever reason. 12 saves to 9 blown saves is a sickening statistic and in what is looking like a tight race early on if we fail to win the division or the wild card that will be what is looked back on as our downfall.

Its become pretty clear that Mozeliak is going to have to trade for a closer by the deadline, and at the rate the pen is going blowing saves teams will know how badly we need one and bend us over in terms of value.

That is very true. I don't follow the Cardinals, (Obviously) but it was apparent something happened, because he was dominating beforehand.
Nick Masset started like that, but he has settled down and been great lately. He had 3 of our first 4 losses.

Because they need big-time bullpen help and that's the Braves' strong suit. Though, if Beachy is hurt for an extended period of time, we might need to use one of those bullpen arms (Cristhian Martinez, perhaps) for his spot in the rotation.

I see. That's definitely should not happen... I knew the Cardinals were struggling in the Pen, but I didn't know you had a surplus. I know the Reds have a surplus now.

Tigers are hotter than anybody right now... I think they have quality starts in 19 of their last 20 starts. Everything is working.
