Does anyone else think that there should be more teams in the MLB playoffs, because I do i am sick of seeing so many teams come close and lose but i guess that also makes the playoff race exciting, just like to hear your opinions

I'm old school so I miss the days of the AL East/West and NL East/West and the old playoff format. Nonetheless i've learned to adapt to the playoff system now. It's a long season and if they allow for more playoff teams it'll jsut make the season even less meaningful then it once was.

I was not too thrilled with the "new" playoff format when it was first announced, but I have grown to really like it.
It definitely allows for more pennant races, which is exactly what MLB was hoping for in doing it. Mission accomplished there.
However, I would definitely NOT be in favor of them adding any more playoff teams. It would make the postseason too long, and most importantly, it would dilute the talent and importance of making the playoffs. There would be way too many teams each year with a realistic chance of getting in at the end. That somewhat defeats the purpose of a team earning a playoff berth by playing good ball during the course of the season, and most importantly down the stretch.
It is way too exciting in the current format for them to change it. I would much rather see a few teams battle it out til the final day, and have a few teams that deserved to make the playoffs come up just short than see teams that didn't really deserve it get in.Comment

I don't think there needs to be more team but i do think the divisions could use a bit of realignment. the NL Central should nto have 6 teams and the AL West should not have only 4.Comment

I'm against adding teams because it'll only extend the time of the post-season and also, it'll make some teams just slack off towards the playoffs instead of trying to get more ground once they get a comfortable lead in the race.
I say the format now is perfectly fine.Comment
