Re: 5/16 - 5/22 Game Discussion Thread
This time last week I was lamenting the Blue Jays fortunes. It's funny what a difference a week can make as they're one of the hotter teams in the AL with five straight wins. This week the Jays take on the Tigers and Rays for 2 games each and then a 3 game set against the Astros. (really, the Astros are the Jays NL Rival? OOOKAY)
I'm really looking forward to seeing how the Jays do against the Tigers and Rays. I'm hoping for a split of those 4 games and 2 out of 3 at the very least against Houston.
Adam Lind should be good to go tonight in a DH role as his back is improving but just not enough to get him onto the field. If he can come back and not skip a beat then the Jays lineup will be looking very solid with the glaring exception of Juan Rivera who looks like hot garbage. Honestly, his body language looks like a guy that doesn't even want to be there. Hopefully he'll be gone soon whether during this year or in the offseason.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

It's at the point where I don't even look ahead to see who the Twins play at the beginning of the week. It's not even June yet. So depressing.Comment

Actually I don't think it's totally his fault but it does seem that he's reached or at the very least very close to his expiry date as manager of the Twins. It really looks to me like that team needs a good kick in the pants. I literally shook my head a few times at Delmon Young's lazy play in the field yesterday. A team that has once been so well known for fundamentals are going through the motions and it isn't even June yet!Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I don't know why everyone around here (I mean Minnesota, not OS) is surprised. Several key players had injuries during spring training. Nothing was added over the offseason except for question marks at 2B, SS, and middle relief. And then the injury bug hit. All that together with everyone except Jason Kubel deciding to have a slump at the same time has led to the perfect storm of suck.Comment

Don't worry, it's not supposed to rain until later in the week.
On a related note to Royals baseball this week, has anyone else noticed that there seem to be a ton of two game series so far this season? After this Thursday the Royal will have already played four two game series this season, and they only played two all of last season. Looking at the schedule they've got two more at the end of the year. Is that something new the schedulers did this season?Comment

Tony LaRussa must've seen how thin it is at 3rd Base in fantasy baseball.Or he might've read the "Jose Bautista is the best player in baseball" thread. Either way, it's an interesting decision.

Hanley moved from hitting 3rd to 2nd and Lomo up from 5th to 3rd, has some potential to still be a great lineup especially if LoMo keeps it up and Hanley starts to heat up some.Saints, LSU, Seminoles, Pelicans, Marlins, LightningComment

Good move by the Marlins. If they quit giving wins away with Vazquez, they're going to be a real threat in the east this year. Now, more than everComment
