To be fair, they traded him AFTER he started struggling and his velocity had dropped. I think they knew something was wrong with him...I just want to know what happened.

And now he's waived. Wouldn't surprise me if Cards pick him and Duncan works his magic.

Hoping the Indians sign him to a minor league deal and see if they can fix him.

The Jays should take a flier on him and see what Farrell and Walton could do though I doubt very much that happens.

We need an arm with how our pitching has been struggling, I'd be all for this, if he doesn't work out no big deal but if he can be even solid for us that would be a big help.

LaRussa and Duncan would probably be the best chance at turning his career around but a lot of teams need pitching and he is a low risk gamble, so he could wind up any number of places.

I think I just relapsed... I was looking forward to seeing Kazmir in a Mets uniform and then that happened... so I thought okay maybe Zambrano can do something...then I realized the only decent Zambrano is Carlos... I'm glad we knew what we were getting with Johan (despite recent injury) when we dealt Humber

I think injury played a huge roll in the decline of Kazmir and I'm rooting for him to catch on elsewhere because at his age he has time to get back on track but the window won't be open forever... I think someone will take a flyer on him this winter and see what he can do in spring training and the minors before calling him up in the early going of the 2012 season

Although I'd like him to return to the Mets

He's young enough to maybe turn it around. Some team will sign him to a minor league deal. As such, he'll really have to prove himself at the AA or AAA level to even think about pitching at the big league level. Saying that, he also needs to stay healthy, which he hasn't been able to in a few years. Low cost, low risk nothing better than that.

Around 2007-2008 I couldn't stop hearing how the Mets blew it by trading away Kazmir. Now it seems it might have been the one good thing they didn't blow.

Hindsight 20/20, since the Madoff scandal, and the Wilpons floundering financially, having to pay out Kazmir had he stayed in NY, gotten the same deal etc would've really killed the Mets.

So I guess what you're trying to say is that these GMs know what they're doing even if we don't think they do.......?

I'm pretty sure they were just lucky on that one. Just look at the money the gave to Oliver Perez...

No, they still ****ed that one up royally, nothing will ever change that.

Ya, even if Kazmir has fallen apart, they missed several years of a good pitcher for Victor Zambrano. You can't polish that turd...

He lost 7 mph off his fastball (93.7 to 86.5). His stuff has just disappeared, and his control has gotten worse as well. His body has simply broken down at the age of 27. Nothing will change unless whatever is broken gets better.

Do you think a year off from baseball activities would help him and then slowly build him back up? I mean he's young enough to do that...
