Well, you Cardinals fans have a lot to talk about. In the meantime, I found this picture of Cliff Lee after tonight's game:

Re: 6/20 - 6/26 Game Discussion Thread
I'll be moving to Atlanta in a couple of weeks which means I'll be force to watch the Braves on TV instead of Yankees:o Oh well! Time to Buy my Jonny Venters jersey and root for the Braves in the national league as I do for the Yankees in the American League
I'll have to get use to less homeruns

Re: 6/20 - 6/26 Game Discussion Thread
Looks like it might be contract related. Still crazy.
Riggleman apparently upset that option had not been picked up, upset over way he was treated by #Nationals. #MLB
Rizzo: Jim Riggleman has resigned as #Nats manager. Talked before game and told Rizzo of displeasure about contract.Comment

Jim Riggleman is a damn fool. The man can't put team before himself? If the Nats were to continue to improve under his managerial tutelage he would've been able to command a higher salary for next year.

Re: 6/20 - 6/26 Game Discussion Thread
Welcome to Washington DC sports, where logic and sound judgment are nowhere to be found.
Next year could possibly yield a very promising season with the return of Strasburg and Harper being ready for the bigs (maybe that's too optimstic for harper, but certainly possible). If the Nationals are being non-committal to Riggleman, it might be reasonable to conclude that they might be looking to make a big splash with a managerial hire. I don't know who'd be available, but it certainly could be an attractive job, despite the questionable ownership.
If that's the case, Riggleman might have found himself in a situation where he'd be twisting in the wind, like Frank Robinson was at the end of his tenure (say what you will about Frank's competency as a manager, he didn't deserve that treatment). In that case, playing the good little boy and finishing out the season he could find himself unemployed anyways and not have any other job prospects to go to if the team keeps dragging its feet after the season is over(the team has an option for next year, so it's not like he can start talking to other teams for a job until the team officially declines the option).
If anything he was a fool for accepting a one year deal given the circumstances, I think I can understand him quitting.Comment

Their's no excuses for quitting!! I don't remember Riggleman ask for money when he lost 90 plus games last year.. I bet Riggleman will never get another job...Comment
