I don't remember Riggleman ask for money when he lost 90 plus games last year.. I bet Riggleman will never get another job...
Riggleman's option for next year is for $600k. Even if Riggleman bombed next year and he was fired, it was not a big financial risk for them to pick up the option (unlike, say, signing Jayson Werth for $126mil).

I personally don't believe this was about the money but rather about Riggleman wanting to know if he was going to be a part of the team's future. He certainly thinks he's gotten his answer.

I don't deny it's certainly risky for him to do this. It can certainly be held against him with future employment prospects in the bigs. At the same time, I can understand him not wanting to be in limbo once this season is over, especially given the nature of this particular ownership.

This is more of a fantasy type post but Jose Bautista has been moved to 3B keeping the position warm and also to provide much needed production from that position until Brett Lawrie can come up. (probably August now) Erick Thames has been called up to take over for Bautista in the OF.

The M's did sweet f all all week despite pitching lights out. Perhaps they have been watching too many Braves games this year.

Or they're just being the Mariners.

Disappointed to lose the series after taking the first game. Timmeh is impossible to crack when he's on, so I can handle losing that one. He's probably my favorite non-Twins pitcher.

Vogelsong has been our ace this year. So losing to him is not bad either. We seem to win the close games at home.

It sure as hell sounds like he's never gonna be the same again.

Yanks have 3 game set against Colorado. What's up with Ubaldo and not being as dominant?

We can win the division and lose in the first round without him. It's been proven. Twice.
