Re: 2011 MLB Trade Deadline Thread

I dunno maybe I'm alone on this but I think Rasmus is a good player but that's it.. I don't see the potential All-Star player that the scouts see. Maybe he needs a change of scenery who knows.

Also, as a Cub fan & Aramis being my fav Cub.. Please waive your no trade clause they could get Quite a package for him they way he's swinging the bat and since they are rebuilding mode. And the #1 Reason why Hendry has to go he's said he's not interested in taking offers for Jeff Baker

That just boggles my mind, he doesn't even start.

I think highly of Rasmus and think he can be a good player in the league. That said, if Cardinals get pitching help for him they need to take the deal. Nationals and Cards will make a great fit, Cards should try and get either Storen or Clippard and Desmond for Rasmus?

I don't quite see the love for him either. He has some potential but EVERYONE at some point has potential. He's a solid player though but I wouldn't give up the future or a guy who could be a long term fit just to acquire what I think is a decent ballplayer.

Nationals are not going to give up Storen and/or Desmond for Rasmus. Clippard is possible though. Many seem to believe that Rasmus could thrive away from Tony La Russa.

Rasmus' stat line is very comparable to Lyle Overbay's and i wonder if that could be the reason the Jays are so high on him.

As long as he doesn't frustrate the fans like Lyle did than that would be a good get for the Jays. A guy who can be a doubles machine and provide some balance in the order would be just what the doctor ordered when it comes to the Jays.

Personally I wouldn't trade Storen but I would trade Clippard if it means bringing back Rasmus.

The Phillies need a right handed bat....I think they should look at Ryan Ludwick. Also - Josh Willingham, he should come cheaply...

The Giants got a steal there. Keppinger hits the ball

Pirates are mulling a trade with the A's for Josh Willingham and Craig Breslow.
Garrett Jones "would be out the door".

This coming off the heels of Tabata feeling tightness in his quad during a rehab game.

I wouldn't trade Jones for Willingham if I were the Pirates.

Those options sound better than the one I heard about Matt Kemp, that one made me laugh almost as much as Tigers fans begging to go get Kershaw.

Not trade rumors, but Dodgers just fired their hitting coach.

I'd rather have Mayberry than Ludwick or Willingham. Willingham might go to Pittsburgh anyway.

It's now looking like the talk between the teams is more focused on relief pitching rather than Willingham:

Sounds as if the #Braves could be close to making a deal for a RH bat
