I would assume that the difference has to do with the naming of the tubes of various sorts of pork and/or beef that has been processed in a mannor and cooked in a way that these tubes spin around on somesort of cooking aparatus that makes them somewhat of a tasty treat to have at a ballgame.

It may not have been funny to you, and that's fine, after all everybody's entitled to their own personal taste. However, a couple people did get a laugh out of it. As opposed to what you said, which was in NO WAY even mildly entertaining.
