    Bobby Richardson

    NY Yankees 2nd baseman in the 50's and early 60's....World Series MVP in 1960....great ballplayer...quality person.....not in Cooperstown.....should he be in the Hall of Fame?

          One can argue that the Yankees have TOO many guys in the HOF simply because they wore the pinstripes. There were a lot of very very good ballplayers that wore the pinstripes that got in the Hall that don't really deserve to be there.

          However, having said that there is one ballplayer that fits that description that I want to see in the Hall of Fame and that's Thurman Munson. He was basically the CAPTAIN of the Yankees team of the late 70s-early 80s. I don't think the Yanks would've tailed off so horribly if he lived. In fact he'd probably be their manager in the 90s or even today if he lived.

                I think Richardson was about a lifetime .260 hitter, and he didn't have power either.
                Not that those are the only marks of a famer, the guy was a solid player on some great teams, but if he didn't play for the Yanks nobody would remember him today.
