I mostly call players by their name. Chipper is different since, well, that's Chipper.

Only others I can think of is changing McCann to Mac. Obviously that one makes sense. Sometimes I'll call Hudson "Huddy". JJ for Jair. That's pretty much it. EOF sometimes for Eric O'Flaherty because I have a hard time spelling that one, LOL.

That's pretty much all I can think of. You know, things that makes sense.

Nicknames that try way, way too hard in every sport need to be put out to pasture and shot in the ****ing head. Also the "First-Initial, First-Syllable" ones like T-Mac, J-Hey, need to be stopped. Let it happen naturally. Like I used to call Uggla "E4 Uggla" after his failures in the ASG a few years back.

Chipper is fine, JJ too, and I don't think J-Hey is that bad.

MVPrado and RooKimbrel of the Year are terrible and Chris Berman wouldn't even use them.

Well Luis Perez has seriously thrown his hat for the 5th or even 4th starter job for the Jays in 2012 with his outing tonight. 1 hit ball over 6 innings is nothing to sneeze at and he's been very consistent all year long in relief and now starting. I will be interested to see how his next start goes.

Oh and thank the heavens for Jose Bautista or they'd probably still be playing well into the evening!

I'd imagine Toronto's a very fun team to watch.. with Bautista, Lawrie, Romero, Lind, Escobar, and now Perez.

As I said in another of these weekly threads the Jays aren't that far away at least from the perspective of the pieces for the team. Really they need a LF, probably a 2B and a more consistent DH.

Only Mike Stanton is good enough to have a an actual nickname for the Marlins and I have dubbed him Big Mike lol.

Everyone is just some little nickname with there name like LoMo, JJ, Cogs, Boni,etc. I refuse to call Hanley H2R

I never use nicknames, that seems so kid like. When I'm talking with people I just say Martinez or even Victor, I don't say V-Mart. Everybody in Detroit calls Cabrera 'Miggy' that sounds like a farm animal. I hate that. Just call people by their names. Haha.
