Re: Jim Hendry (Cubs GM) axed.
This actually might be more embarrassing than the time he required reconstructive knee surgery after tripping on a dustpan while carrying his son's birthday present down the stairs.
Didn't help that he's had two members of his organization prematurely bail out on him, but despite what ESPN is saying, I think the Cubs have been falling a steady decline since 2008, and it won't be going up for a long while, especially with the division relatively strengthening.

I heard they fired him on July 22nd, but he wanted to stay and work through the trade deadline. If true, the Cubs truly are an incompetent organization."People ask me what I do in winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. That doesn't need to be true for our organization to be considered incompetent. That's already a fact.Comment

He stayed on to make sure most of the draft picks signed. Which is great cause its one of the better draft classes we've had.Comment

Re: Jim Hendry (Cubs GM) axed.
Maybe the rumor of Gillick going to the Cubs as a "baseball czar" for lack of a better term might have some merit. He's been quoted as saying he wouldn't mind going to the Cubs in that kind of capacity.
Would be interesting if they did that because I have no clue who he'd hire as GM.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

I think Rick Hahn and Josh Byrnes are probably the top 2 candidates.
But the main target should be Andrew FriedmanWolverines Packers Cubs Celtics
