I wonder how much longer Bill Smith will be the GM of the Twins. I completely understand trading Jim Thome, but has he made a single transaction that worked in the Twins' favor?

Well found out this morning that Farrell has Pneumonia but should be alright as he was let out of hospital last night and should be in the dugout for tonight's game against the Rays.

Those who may be fans or interested in Travis Snider well....He's probably done for the year so no September call up for him as his wrist injury in AAA Vegas turns out to be tendonitis.

Me thinks he won't be in the Jays organization next spring.

Well Farrell WON'T be on the bench tonight as the doctors told him to take it easy today. He might be there tomorrow though. Don Wakamatsu will handle managerial duties tonight.

Rick Porcello is having command issues again with his fastball and sinker. At least he isn't getting shelled as bad this time against the Twins as opposed to what happened to him a week and a half ago.

All the hits have been ground balls though, so he's been alright.

Victor Martinez had a big night driving in 4 runs. He's got a bad leg, can't run the bases without looking like he is going to trip, but he hits and hits and hits. He's about to finish with around 10 homers and 90 RBI's which is a testament to how great he is at get the big hit and taking the ball the other way. .405 with RISP.

Nights like these are the reason(s) why I wasn't (and still am not) ready to jump on the "OMG UBALDO DEAL SUX Y U DO DAT" wagon. He had great command of his fastball tonight and punched out 10 batters. Granted, it was against KC, but they have some guys who can hit.

If he can get his arm right or whatever it is that's been hampering him this whole year he'll be good to go in my opinion.
