    Re: Cubs vs. Marlins

Ok, anyway back on topic. Game 1 tonight. Any thoughts?

It's warming up here at Wrigley, and I believe the wind will be blowing out to left a little at gametime. Zambrano is a sinker ball pitcher who doesn't give up the longball too often.

                  Here's the series.
                  1) Sosa hits his stride and hits 2-3 dongs by game four, and the rest of the lineup Alou, Karros, and Ramirez keep it up and they avg 6 runs/game and win easy.
                  OR
                  2) The Cubs starters are spent, and they lose it in 6-7. Baker leaves Clement in way too long again.

I doubt he leaves in Zambrano and/or Clement to long this series... Too much at stake!

Honestly, I don't think it matters if Clement gets bombed. In fact that's the one game I see us losing. Willis will be on the mound for Fla anyway so who cares. I just don't see the big 3 losing a game in this series. These guys aren't tired and they're going against a team that can't hit like the Braves. HOWEVER. If they do walk too many guys then there could be troulbe cuz the fish got speed. That is my biggest concern from a pitching perspective.

I don't know if Sammy will hit or not. So far he's show he's not that clutch, but the great news is that for the first time in forever, we don't need Sammy to be god like in order to win. This is the most we've been a team in 20 years.
